Structure

Vetting

Before joining the group each incumbent is individually interviewed.  The purpose of the interview is to ensure that expectations are realistic and that the experience is a beneficial one for everyone.

Numbers

There is a minimum of five and a maximum of ten group members plus the facilitator.  The group is open ended, people come and go.  The only requirement of departing members is to plan their exit and share their reasoning for leaving.  New members come from a waiting list.

Anonymity

Titles, achievements, addresses, last names, and all egos are to be left outside.  What is said in the group stays in the group.  Who is in the group is never discussed outside of the group.  The group as a safe place to be is the responsibility of everyone.

Times

The group meets every second week for two hours from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.  The meetings start the first week of September and end the last week of June each year.

Requirements

There are only three: 

  • Abide by the basic tenets described above
  • Read from the provided bibliography
  • Come to each session prepared to do that which is meaningful to you
